    Description

    Interesting and charming old lacquer box, in the shape of a fish, the side fin being the handle for the lid.  Meticulously painted in fine gold paint, details in the scales, the fins, etc.   Can be used as an art object or, of course, as a box.  22x10x5" (approx).   A deep red background on the outside, precisely handpainted in gold, with a deep red inside.  Really well made and decorated.
    We have displayed this on a coffee table for 20 years or so.  Acquired at a high-end Sarasota antiques show.
