Overview:
An exquisite and rather large antique Relief Carved Wall Panel, hand-sculpted of auspicious Teakwood, from the village of Baan Tawai, east of Chiangmai, near the Golden Triangle region, delicately modeled in the form of a nature scene depicting three Elephants shrouded by foliage. The piece measures 35.75 inches(90.81cm) in length.
Description:
A wonderful depiction modeled from a solid piece of timber, intricately carved and vividly depicting a wooded scene of elephants running single file amidst a variety of budding rosettes and swirling vegetation.
Remarks: Excellent condition, well preserved, with the wood having normal cracks, chips, dents, and color loss, due to years of exposure to the weather and other deteriorating conditions.
