JUMBO Antique Molded Circus Elephant Door Stop EXTRA LARGE

Jumbo Elephant composition or resin Doorstop with a book on the story of Jumbo by Paul Chambers. Jumbo elephant doorstop has a lot of presence with considerable detail and nicely muted colors. Depicts Jumbo with short tusks wearing a decorated blanket. A large, quite substantial and imposing doorstop, it measures approx. 11 1/2" by 11 3/4" by 3 1/2" deep and weighs approx. 6 lb. 10 oz
All others that I have found like this one are made of cast iron but are exactly like this one.  The only difference that I can see are that the colors of the cast iron ones are much stronger.  The cast ones are hollowed out where this one is solid.  This one has no hallmarks.
I am not sure what this one is made of but it looks to be of some form of composition possibly ground up wood sawdust or possibly some form of resin but I have no way of knowing for sure.  I also have no way of knowing when this was made but it probably was some time after the elephant was shipped to America in 1882.
The story of Jumbo is told in the book "Jumbo The Greatest Elephant in The World" by Paul Chambers that I will include with the door stop.
Jumbo– the 13,000 pound African elephant born C 1850 who inspired, musicians, circus goers, illustrators, and the world. Jumbo is considered one of the world's most famous elephants. He was a major attraction at the London Zoo before he was sold to P.T. Barnum Circus. Despite huge public protest, he was shipped to America in 1882. He was the star of Barnum & Bailey Circus when he tragically died in a train accident in 1885.  Jumbo inspired the Disney movie "Dumbo" and the word Jumbo was entered the Oxford English Dictionary as it came to be used for something of colossal size.
You will find that the door stop is in good vintage condition with no cracks, breaks or any significant damage.
