    19TH CENTURY BUDDHIST & NAT WORSHIP BRONZE CREMATION URN
    NAT KING RIDING REGAL ELEPHANT

    TRUE MASTERPIECE... Nat King riding regal elephant
    design Cremation Urn. Urns such as this were used by Buddhists and Nat Worship practitioners alike to store the cremated remains of monks or family members who were known for their piety. (Note: I have included more info about Nat Worship below) The remains, which included ashes and bone fragments would be placed in the urn which would be kept in the Wat (temple) or in the home in order to bring blessings upon the home and the family. Antique urns such as this are extremely rare and difficult to find as families are very reluctant to part with them. Elephants are most revered of all animals to Buddhists & Nat Worshipers alike. Regal Elephants were elephants that were specially trained to carry important government or royal persons. This regal elephant, guided by the Nat King, is intended to carry the spirit of the deceased to paradise. This beauty is the crown jewel of my personal collection and I have owned it for many years. It is the most ornate and unique Nat Worship urn I have ever seen. It is my favorite piece and is has been a real struggle for me to finally offer it up for sale. I highly recommend that you buy it now if you find yourself attracted before I change my mind.
